YAY! My brother, just 22 months younger than me, got engaged in August or September, 1999. I was 24, and I didn't want to miss his wedding for anything. After praying about it, I talked to my bishop, who was surprised, I think, because I wasn't going on a mission or getting married. He talked with me about the responsibility, and sent me on to my stake president, an old cowboy. President Brotherson looked me straight in the eye and asked, "Are you getting married?" I answered no. He asked, "Are you going on a mission?" Again, I said no. He put down his pen, REALLY looked at me, and asked, "Why are you here?" I looked right back and said, "Because I feel that it is time." He thought for a minute, nodded, and said, "Me too. Let's get this done." I was endowed October 6th, 1999, and was able to attend my brother's sealing in January 2000. It was the best decision I've ever made. Don't let ANYTHING stop you from this.

Amanda, Thanks! I hope so too. I'm so excited.

Heidi: Your situation sounds so similar to mine it's almost uncanny. I bought a plane ticket home about ten minutes after I finished my interview with the Stake President. I can't wait.

Nauvoo? That is so wonderful. What a special place for this to happen for you.

I've been there when the only thing on that spot was a model.

Then I was able to go to the open house. I even got to see it from across the river near Montrose Crossing. What an amazing experience.

But nothng like the time later when I was actually able to enter in. The people who serve there are so happy to see you. You will love it.
